5. Organized Sector consists of those establishments that grow tea (and usually process green leaf into made tea) and which are subject to the provisions of various legislative measures. These include the Tea Act 1953 (and amendments thereto), and the Plantation Labour Act of 1951. Under the legislative framework, the tea producing states have enacted regulations for many aspects of tea, including the welfare of the tea workers
6. Small Tea Grower (STG) is defined as a person who has a tea cultivation of up to 25 acres (10.12 hectares) as per the Tea Board India guidelines
