Tamenglong District
This is the least populous district of Manipur. Tamenglong district comprises of virgin forests, exotic orchids, rare and endangered plants, and wildlife.
Area: 4,391 Sq. Km. Density of Population: 32 people per square kilometer Literacy Rate: 70.05 % - Male: 76.09 %, Female: 63.69 % Male Female Ratio: 1000:943 Latitude: 24.31o N to 25.30o N Longitude: 93.00o E to 94.00o E

District HQ: Tamenglong. Sub-Divisions: Tamenglong West, Tamenglong North, Tamenglong and Nungba. Blocks: Tamenglong, Nungba, Tousem, Tamei and Khoubum. Major Agricultural Products: Oranges, parkia, papaya, royal chili, pineapple, lime, coconut, mango, litchi. Flora: Zousiang (uningthou) , ndung (Sahikuhi), mphou (oak), nthaeng (tairen),chongrei (talhao), makou, junh, gaeng (uwah), gaengthing ( semi Uwah), n-ngaih, agau, Aguretc, cane and bamboo, thatch grass, Cinnamon, wild apple, wild banana, wild cherry, wild walnut, wild mangoes, luikhumthai, Lichi, Passion fruit, neithai, Lemon, Orange, Tachuthai, Mushroom, Morels. Fauna: Mole, hedgehogs, flying lemur, bats ,monkeys, black monkey, wild pigs, wild boars, pangolin etc. Festivals: Gan-Ngai, Rih-Ngai, Gudui-Ngai, Banruhmei. Major Rivers: Iyei, Irang, Barak, Makru.
